Overview

Annapurna Base Camp trek (ABC) is perfect for trekking enthusiasts who are short on time. In just 12 days, you will trek from Phedi and ends at Naya Pul and experience the most memorable mountain views and culture. It is one of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal. This 12-days trek itinerary is designed for trekkers who want to complete the Annapurna trek but are short on time. The ABC trek started from Phedi. During the trek, you will experience idyllic villages and neat terrace rice fields. As you gradually trek higher, which is a pleasant trek, you will come across forests and scattered areas of farmed land. As the valley narrows towards the entrance of the world o ice and snow is the Annapurna Sanctuary. Throughout your trekking journey, there will be outstanding panoramas of high peaks against the contract of rice fields and villages.

It is one of the most popular treks of Nepal offering spectacular views throughout the entire trekking routes and journey. The short for Annapurna Base Camp trek is ABC trek and thousands of people visit the country with the sole purpose of interacting and encountering these mountains from up-close. Although the 11 days Annapurna Base Camp trek is considered to be a short trek, it comes as one of the best ones for people who want to experience the wilds, diverse terrains, and the mighty mountains from up-close. For travelers and trekkers who are running short of time and have a tight schedule, this trek comes off as an enriching one.

The off tracks are not an easy one since we will be conquering the mountains. The journey might be a bumpy one with highs and lows, but there are certainly plenty of small stops and teahouses where you can rest. Here, while resting, you also get an opportunity to converse with the locals and understand their roots. The funnel-shaped valley, the Annapurna Base Camp is located at an elevation of 4130 meters. Since the mountain and the base camp is located at a height of 4000 meters, it is obvious for the weather there to be cold and windy. Thus, do not forget to pack some warm clothes to protect yourself from the chilly winds.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek itinerary has its starting point from the foothills of Pokhara cruising through the peaks dying through the ancient popular Gurung villages of Ghandruk and Chhomorong. You may spend a night at Poonhill as the dawn view at Ghorepani Poonhill is to die for and the spectacular panoramic view from the place promises a clear view of more than 15 pristine snow-capped mountains including the Annapurna, Fishtail, and Dhaulagiri range. What makes the Annapurna Base Camp package more serene, enriching, and beautiful are the ample number of species of rare and endangered floras and faunas trekkers get to witness along the way on the trekking trail. The lush forests of the national flower of the country, Rhododendron, and other forests of pine spruce, fir trees, monkeys, bears, reptiles, and even leopards are some of them that you will witness as you make your way in.  During your journey, you may come across the farmland at Ghandruk and converse with the local Nepalese. A tender Namaste and warm gestures are enough for them to invite you in and hand in a warm cup of tea.

This generosity of the people will help you better understand the great rich culture they are embedded with. The local authentic Nepali Thaali is too a must to feast on once you are here. The plate comprises rice, lentils, vegetables, pickles, and meat of your choice. While this is a yummy cuisine, it also replenishes all your tiredness and restores energy in you to continue your trek the next day. The months of April to May would be the best time to visit Annapurna Base Camp and to ponder upon the clear blue skies and majestic mountains. If you ever want to be amazed by a complete package of enchanting nature, historic heritage, and the rich culture the people encompass, exploring the nooks of the country is an easy bet.

While descending from the Annapurna Base Camp trek, people often visit the Jhinu Danda as the hot spring baths are a major attraction there. These natural hot springs are very relaxing to the muscles and are bound to heal your sore feet. Since the place is visited many times by people from all around the globe, there are good arrangements and numerous lodges and tea houses available at ABC for accommodation.

I am so grateful that I got a chance to experience such an amazing trip. Tired but happy to see an awesome place like Annapurna mountains and Fishtail too. The tea houses during the trek were great even though just a humble one. They provide us with a warm meal and a clean blanket. Enough to get rest after a long trek.

The trek is not easy with thousands of stone steps and many ups and downs, but the ABC is worth the effort.
