Overview

Blessed with the densest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Kathmandu Valley is a treasure trove of religious, cultural, and architectural heritage.  It’s pagoda-roofed temples, squares choking with sculptures, sites that are holy to both Hindus and Buddhists, and countless festivals evoke Rudyard Kipling’s famous line, ‘The strangest dreams of Kew are the facts of Kathmandu.’

A beautiful valley with an amazing dense concentration of some of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites, Kathmandu Valley is a treasure trove of religious, cultural, and architectural heritage. A renowned gold-coated pagoda-style Pashupatinath temple is a major attraction here and was built in the 17th century by the Malla Kings. Due to its holiness, Hindu pilgrims from all around offer prayers here. The other exemplars of magnificent architecture have to be the Durbar Squares that previously were Palaces to the Former-Royal Dynasty of Nepal. While each of them has its unique importance, today, the Kathmandu Durbar Square is home to the only living Goddess in the World. The museum has been preserving the history of the Kings. The Changunarayan temple is still standing tall as one of the oldest temples of Nepal, and the Chandragiri temple located 2551 meters above sea level is a temple that offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley and the Himalayan ranges from the Annapurna to the Everest. These features make the sites a must-visit.

Dhulikhel is best known for short retreats and the best sunset views ever! From short treks around the hills to exploring the famous pilgrimage sites like Namo Buddha, you can experience two ends of the spectrum here. The luxury hotels offer a great place to relax that will make your Dhulikhel tour a complete package of retreat. You can also witness some of the highest ranged mountains like Mount Annapurna, Mount Ganesh, and many more from here. The sunrays slowly peeking behind the mountains is certainly a magnificent view.
